The Big and Tiny Family

We strongly believe in the idea that it takes a village to raise a child. We have cultivated a supportive community of teachers, staff, and fellow families, where sharing knowledge, creativity, experience, and guidance is welcome and encouraged.

Our team is the core of Big and Tiny and the most valuable part of our program. Teachers have a wide experience and education in early childhood development. They have a deep understanding of child development and teaching methods, but above all, a passion for their jobs and kids.

Our team of educators is trained to follow our philosophy and share a common commitment to help each child develop fully- physically, socially, emotionally and cognitively. In addition, all teachers are CPR and first aid certified and well versed in separation anxiety strategies to make the transition as seamless as possible.

Partners in learning and play

At Big and Tiny, we encourage learning and pretending by learning and pretending alongside our little ones every day. Rooted in empathy and communication, we endeavor to remember what it was like to be a child and we let that inform the way we interact with and teach our young children. We talk with our children, we really listen, and we share in their sense of wonder.

Role models of self-expression
and global citizenship

Although our little ones often crave and need independence, they look to their trusted grown-ups for help in understanding the world and their own complex inner feelings. As Big and Tiny teachers, we model healthy and appropriate ways of expressing feelings along with ways of interacting with the world with a spirit of curiosity and wonder. We strive to model behavior, attitudes, and coping skills that our children can emulate and carry for the rest of their lives.

Pillars of Safety and Dependability

Above all, we at Big and Tiny know that the hard and sacred work of parenting is never ever done alone. We take the role we play in your child’s community very seriously. When your child is at Big and Tiny, they receive the attention, safety, and love they rightfully deserve—from teachers they will trust and enjoy having around.
